Prince William is said to be ‘determined’ to make his late mother Princess Diana proud, a royal insider has claimed.

The royal source told the Examiner, per OK! Magazine that Prince William got emotional as the future King thought about how he lost his late mother as he navigated the heartbreak of his wife, Kate Middleton's cancer battle. Referring to Princess Diana’s tragic car crash in 1997, the insider said "William knows better than anyone how suddenly a loved one can be taken.

“He spent countless nights praying to God that his children wouldn’t lose their mother as he lost his own.”

The source told the outlet, Diana taught William to smile no matter the ‘private tragedies unfolding’, adding "He knows she’s watching from heaven, and he’s determined to make her proud."

King Charles and Kate Middleton were diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

Recently, the Princess of Wales confirmed she has completed her chemotherapy treatment.

Meanwhile, Kate Middleton has said, “The amount of people who have written this year is extraordinary and I think cancer just really does resonate with so many families.

“People like you are doing all the hard work out there. I’m hugely grateful.”
